The New York Yankees are Major League Baseballs most storied franchise with 40 American League pennants and 27 World Series titles to their credit. This lot features a majestic framed lithograph celebrating the Yankees and all their glory. It features a montage of 21 iconic players who wore the Yankees pinstripes during their respective careers from Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig to Manager Casey Stengel and Yogi Berra to Don Mattingly and Derek Jeter. It also includes the retired uniform numbers of Ruth (3) Gehrig (4) Joe DiMaggio (5) and Mickey Mantle (7) as well as year designations commemorating the teams first 26 World Series titles from 1923 to 2000. It also includes signatures in blue marker from 23 past Yankee players including Hall of Famers like Whitey Ford Goose Gossage and Reggie Jackson along with other Yankee greats such as Sparky Lyle Graig Nettles Roy White Chris Chambliss David Cone and David Wells. Framed and matted the piece that pays tribute to the best players who have ever suited up in the Bronx measures 44 wide by 35 high.
