In their first century of existence the New York Yankees captured 39 American League pennants and 26 World Series championships. The most successful professional sports organization in history the Yankees are simply in a class of their own when it comes to producing winning competitive squads year after year. This lot features a multi-signed limited-edition (#40/100) New York Yankees 2003 commemorative home jersey complete with the 100th Anniversary patch on the left sleeve as well as a limited edition (#50/100) Yankees 100th Anniversary bat signed by 25 former Yankee greats. The pinstriped jersey which is also sporting the 2003 World Series patch on the right sleeve boasts 23 different Yankee signatures in blue marker including recently retired team captain Derek Jeter along with other notables including Yogi Berra Whitey Ford Don Larsen Reggie Jackson Goose Gossage Sparky Lyle Graig Nettles David Cone Joe Girardi and Darryl Strawberry. The multi-signed Cooperstown Bat specimen commemorates the teams first 26 World Series titles and boast 25 signatures on it in varying shades of blue marker. Notable autographs include Yogi Berra Whitey Ford Reggie Jackson Roy White Graig Nettles Joe Pepitone Goose Gossage Sparky Lyle Paul ONeil and David Cone. Many of the signatures on the bat have faded a bit but are still legible.
