Thelate Muhammad Ali a three-time World Heavyweight Champion had perhapshis most memorable boxing battles versus the late great “Smokin’ Joe”Frazier. In 1974 they squared off in a non-title match billed as “SuperFight II.” It took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City onJanuary 28 1974 and Ali a slight favorite to win did just that byunanimous decision. This lot features a black-and-white original Germanpress photo from that particular bout. Measuring 6" wide by 8.5" high the photo shows Ali stalking Frazier late in the fight. The photo was later signed by Ali in black marker and inscribed with the "5-27-76”date of that autograph. The date of the signature certainly makes senseas Ali had defeated Richard Dunn (5th round KO) three days earlier inMunich.
