Prior to becoming the Greatest of All Time former Heavyweight Champion of the World Muhammad Ali captured the light heavyweight gold medal at the 1960 Summer Olympic Games in Rome. This lot features a black-and-white photograph of Ali who was then going by his original name of Cassius Clay and two other gold medalists from the 1960 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team Wilbert McClure left and Eddie Crook right. The 11 high by 14 wide limited-edition (#172/200) photograph shows the trio wearing not only their gold medals but their U.S. Olympic Team warmups as well. Ali signed the photograph in gold paint pen using his current name: Muhamad Ali. Framed and matted the overall presentation piece now measures 20 high by 24 wide.
