Mike Zunino was a second-year catcher in 2014 for the Seattle Mariners. Playing in 131 games that season he collected 87 hits including 22 home runs! This lot features his game-worn home alternate jersey that was worn on June 16 that season versus the visiting San Diego Padres. Although he went hitless in four at-bats the Ms pulled out a 5-1 win that day with Zunino behind the plate. For the 2014 season he caught 125 complete games (121 complete games) and posted a .995 fielding average. The jersey shows ample signs of wear with the MARINERS lettering across the front his last name ZUNINO arched across the back and his uniform number 3 all showing some puckering and slight fraying. Proper tagging of the size 48 Authentic Majestic jersey exists on the left front tail with a white Property of Seattle Mariners 2014 sewn-in tag just beneath the manufacturers tag. In addition to the jersey this lot also boasts a cracked game-used Viper bat Zunino used during his pre-rookie season of 2012. He signed with the Mariners on July 3 that year and was assigned to their short season Class A affiliate Everett AquaSox in the Northwest League. Zunino spent six weeks with the AquaSox in 2012 batting .373 with 10 HRs and 35 RBIs. He was promoted to Double-A affiliate Jackson Generals on August 13. The 34 two-tone Viper bat includes Mike Zunino engraved on the barrel with model number ELITE AI13BR just above it. Multiple contact marks and impressions are littered throughout the barrel.
