The great Magic Johnson was just hitting his stride in the mid-1980s when he was on the verge of leading the Los Angeles Lakers to five NBA titles over a nine-year period three of which occurred in 1985 ’87 and ’88. Individual accolades were piling up as well for the prolific 6’ 9” point guard as he nailed down two of three NBA Finals MVP awards in 1982 and 1985.

Featured here is a pair of Magic’s mid-1980’s dual-autographed and game-worn Converse “Weapon” shoes. The multi-colored Converse All-Star branded model shoes show ample game usage around the largely yellow with purple and white trim leather kicks. Each shoe is stamped in purple with “MAGIC” across the ankle and Magic has signed both shoes on the side in blue fine-point marker. The original shoelaces remain intact. The shoe size is not marked but they appear to come in Magic’s standard size 14-15 range.

Provenance: This lot originates from a gentleman who has enjoyed a long and successful career in Hollywood as an agent for many well-known athletes and entertainers. His professional and personal network enabled him to amass a significant collection of memorabilia nearly all of which was given to him directly from the athletes and entertainers themselves. All of these items are being introduced to the marketplace here for the first time.
