A native of Commerce Oklahoma the late Mickey Mantle was nicknamed “The Commerce Comet” based on his lightning-quick speed out of the batter’s box. A switch-hitter for the New York Yankees for 18 seasons Mantle could launch massive tape measure home runs from either side of the plate and wound up with 536 round-trippers to his credit when he eventually retired in 1968. This lot features a near pristine Official American League (Brown) Rawlings baseball signed by Mantle on the sweet spot in perfect blue ink. The signature is strong and bold and rates 9/10 in our book!
