Micheal Ray Richardson was a standout player in the NBA who played for both the New York Knicks (1978 to '82) and the New Jersey Nets (1982 to '86). He was the No. 4 overall pick in the 1978 NBA Draft. In just his second season Richardson became the third player in NBA history to lead the league in both assists (10.1 per game) and steals (3.2) setting Knicks' franchise records in both categories.
This lot features a pair of Micheal Ray Richardson's dual-signed and game-worn Converse All-Star Chuck Taylors. The size 11 white shoes minus their lacesshow wear and have been signed in black ink by Richardson on the outer panel of either shoe. He added "NJ NETS" and "#20" after each signature. The rubber soles remain in great shape. This pair is part of the Peter Vecsey Collection.
