Salvino, Inc. was formed in 1989 and initially produced hand-signed baseball figurines as part of what was called the Salvino Collection. The company later expanded to include other sports such as basketball, football, hockey and boxing. Unlike other modern-era figurine attempts, Salvinos were very well-received among collectors (like vintage Hartlands) for their likeness, high quality and creativity, depicting sports legends of yesteryear and current stars in dignified poses.
This Michael Jordan example, part of a limited-edition series that depicted MJ in both his Chicago Bulls home and road uniforms, comes in remarkable condition. The porcelain statue of His Airness in mid-flight about to dunk in his Bulls home whites rises 16” high on a metal rod attached to a 4-by-6” light wood floor base. Jordan has signed in fine-tipped black marker on the base’s white placard. The underside has the official Salvino, Inc. metallic certification placard with NBA and Upper Deck Authenticated licensing details, with UDA hologram sticker (AUE46936). Comes in its original cardboard box from The Salvino Collection. Autograph also certified by Beckett.
