If pro basketball had a "Joe DiMaggio" it would be John Havlicek. Havlicek played with an unmatched skill, elegance and class while winning 8 championships with Boston Celtics on his way to the Basketball Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2019.
Presented here is the first time "Hondo" graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, in 1966, looking regal in his Celtics green uniform with the backdrop of a championship banner. It is a bright and colorful and just a delightful Celtics artifact. Look at the size of Havlicek's hands, by the way. Whoa. He was built for basketball.
CGC has rated it an outstanding 9.0, a population of 1! Wow!
