Presented here is a limited edition three-foot tall Willie Mays San Francisco Giants oversized bobblehead signed by the "Say Hey Kid" himself! The massive porcelain figurine features Mays in his Giants uniform holding a bat with his right hand and an armband on his left. Mays autographed the top of his cap in silver permanent marker for excellent eye appeal. A Giants-themed plaque at Mays' feet reads "MAYS | 660 | BONDS" in honor of Willie's final home run total and his Godson, Barry, ceremoniously catching him on April 12, 2004. The base of the statue reads "MAYS" in large orange lettering and the rear side of the base reads "16 of 100" denoting its limited releasw, although only 25 of these were actually made according to the consignor with direct knowledge of the actual production run. The fully-functioning bobblehead weighs 29.8 lbs. and comes like-new with light soiling from age but no cracks, dents or dings. A perfect complement for the ultimate man cave!
To our knowledge, this is the first 3-ft. tall Willie Mays bobblehead to be offered, and certainly the only known autographed version. It was gifted by the Giants organization to a longtime Community Relations employee who worked directly with Mays, McCovey and other team ambassadors on Bay Area outreach projects for nearly two decades. As courtesy for their time working together, Willie even signed it for her. Accompanied by a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
Due to the size and fragility of this item, local Califonia pick-up is highly recommended. Shipping will likely require freight or an expensive courier package due to weight and dimensions.
