This spectacular Jets Mark Sanchez jersey was worn in his NFL debut against the Houston Texans a game when the rookie showed signs immediately of what was to come aided perhaps by a pregame pep talk from none other than Jets Hall of Famer Broadway Joe Namath. Sanchez the fifth overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft threw for 272 yards and a touchdown Thomas Jones scored twice and the Jets shut down Houston's high-powered offense in a 24-7 win in Houston. The historic green mesh Sanchez jersey boasts considerable game use including dirt and grass stains front and back and on both shoulders plus collision marks throughout. Inside the rear collar is a strip tag with 08-44" directly above a transfer tag with "BCG8191X." All elements of the jersey appear to be problem-free; the tails of this shirt are hemmed straight across the bottom with a manufacturers tag noting Berlin Wis. Player No. 6 appears on the front back and on both shoulders in green tackle twill (shoulders) and white tackle twill front and back. "Sanchez" appears across the back in white tackle twill on a green nameplate. The sleeves have an elastic spandex hem and each feature the embroidered Reebok logo patch. At the V-neck is the NFL Equipment logo shield with adjacent Jets embroidered patch to the left and Jets 50th Anniversary season patch on the right. A J.O. Sports hologrammed tag is affixed to the lower inside of the tail attesting to the game use from 9/13/09 at Houston.
