Former New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera retired from Major League Baseball in 2013. He left the game with the most career saves (652) in history and a career ERA of 2.21. This lot shows Rivera on the mound throwing the final pitch ever in the old Yankee Stadium on the night of September 21 2008. For the record it wasnt a save situation and the Yankees won 7-3. The nicely matted and framed 16 x 20 color photo shows the bleachers and scoreboard in the background with the time reading: 11:41 p.m. Rivera signed and inscribed the limited-edition photo (#13/100) in blue ink: The Final Pitch. Also included in this lot are two single-signed OML (Selig) baseballs that Rivera has autographed on the sweet spot in blue ink. One of the baseballs is of the limited-edition variety (WS 2/9) that includes gold stamping showing Riveras 6th post-season save from the 1998 World Series (10/20/98) versus the San Diego Padres at Qualcomm Stadium.

Includes COA from Steiner Sports and MLB Authentication (photo hologram # 08660404275).

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
