This amazing pair of skates (and cast too) were worn by Hall of Famer Marcel Dionne on March 20 1986 upon the occasion of becoming the second all-time-leading scorer in the National Hockey League. During his first season for Detroit in 1972 he set an NHL record for scoring by a rookie with 77 points. His best season was 197980 when he had 137 points. That season he was tied for the league lead in points with Wayne Gretzky. Dionne was awarded the Art Ross Trophy for scoring and also won the Ted Lindsay Award (formally called the Lester B. Pearson Award) in 1979 and 1980 and the Lady Byng Trophy in 1975 and 1977.He is ranked fifth in points with 1771 and ninth in career assists with 1040. He has had eight 100-plus point seasons in his NHL career trailing only Gretzky's 14 seasons and Mario Lemieux's 10.

Marcel Dionne wore these Size 6 CCM Ultra Tacks at that historic game. "CCM" appears at the back of the heels imprinted on the leather section along with on the outside of each heel with the imprinted "Ultra Tacks." They show good game wear and have intact laces and are problem free. The accompany cast from his wrist is about 11 inches high with a small section cut out (but still included) near the palm and thumb presumably to be able to remove the cast and consign it to posterity. Dionne has signed along the middle in black marker adding his "HOF 92" inscription. The lot also comes with a 5-by-2-inch plastic nameplate with gold finish with his name date and the description of the items and significance.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from The Newport Sports Museum.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
