Interesting baseball signed by Hall of Famers Lou Gehrig and Hank Aaron over 40 years apart. The unidentified baseball was originally signed between 1930 and 1932 when the New York Yankees came to Louisville Kentucky for an exhibition game. At that time the consignor's great-great grandfather had the ball signed by Hall of Famer's Lou Gehrig and Earle Combs as well as Yankee teammates Ben Chapman George Pipgras and Ed Wells. At that time a CLUBHOUSE Babe Ruth was also applied to the sweet spot. Move forward to April 1974. Hank Aaron on the verge of breaking the home run record was scheduled to make a public appearance at McAlpin's department store in the Cincinnati suburb of Kenwood. The consignor's father contacted the store and told them about the ball he had and arrangements were made at that time to have Hank Aaron sign the ball. Gehrig has signed on a side panel in 7/10 looking dark black ink with Aaron placing his signature right above in 8-8.5/10 blue ink. Ball has darkened over the years but all signatures are easily identifiable.
