Nice group of 3 large original photos emanating from the Christy Walsh estate. They are:
1) Beautiful 10 1/2 by 13 1/2 Lou Gehrig portrait photo. "LOU GEHRIG" printed at the bottom. "CHRISTY WALSH MANAGEMENT" stamping on the back. Small crease at lower left and right corners. Looks to have been cut down from 11 by 14 size.
2) Glossy 11 by 14 photo of Joe McCarthy, Lou Gehrig(on horse), Colonel Ruppert, and Sheriff Cunningham, all in western garb. "ST. PETERSBURGH, FLA> MARCH 23, 1938 Printed in photo at top left corner. At bottom right signed in 8/10 black ink "To Christy Walsh Best Wishes Jacob Ruppert". Corner missing at lower right as well as a couple of places at top right edge.(Could easily be matted out) Crease and small tear at left lower edge.
3) Glossy 11 by 14 collage of mainly newspaper clipping of Lou Gehrig with a photo of Gehrig at the center. Caption at bottom reads "IRON MAN of BASEBALL - LOU GEHRIG". Missing tip at lower corners and piece top left edge. 3/4" tear at left center edge. Still should frame up nicely.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
Ruppert autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
