This is an outstanding game-worn and autographed St. Louis Cardinals cap from Hall of Famer Lou Brock who played most of his career with the Cardinals after an historic trade sent him to St. Louis from the Cubs. A boatload of major league and National League records awaited along with a spot in the 3000-hit club and a plaque in Cooperstown. Through much of the 1960's Brock and fellow speedster Maury Wills helped dramatically alter game strategy in the National League with a reliance on the stolen base unprecedented in the game's annals. The famed interlocking STL logo appears on the front of the cap in white and black embroidery against the Cardinals red cap. On the inner band is the New Era manufacturers tag and the adjacent Size 7 1/2 flag tag. Brock's No. 20 is handwritten in black marker on the underside of the brim. The cap shows good game-use with heavy sweat staining on the inner band near the front and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Brock has signed in attractive black marker on the red brim.
