Fine lot of vintage photos representing broad stages of John McGraw's long and illustrious baseball career. Highlighting the lot is a photo attributed to Charles Conlon and two by Paul Thompson. The 6 1/2" by 8 1/2" image attributed to Conlon shows McGraw hitting infield practice in his Giants uniform circa 1920's. The back is stamped "THE RING Inc." with pencil notations including the name "Conlon". Both Thompson photos are headshots in uniform with Thompson's stamp on reverse. One has been overstamped by "THE RING Inc.". Other photos include a head shot of McGraw in suit stamped on the back by Pacific & Atlantic Photo 1920's shot on the field with actor Edward Robins posing in Mathewson's uniform with "Deaccessioned" stamp on back by Culver Pictures circa 1920's picture of McGraw and companions disembarking from a ship stamped by Central News on back and finally a second or third generation shot of McGraw as a young player for Baltimore in 1890 or 1891 with a 1940-48 International News stamp on reverse.
