Four of the most popular and most successful major league ball players at the mid-century mark were Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio of the New York Yankees Stan Musial of the St. Louis Cardinals and Ted Williams of the Boston Red Sox. Mickey hit 536 home runs for the Bronx Bombers while DiMaggio set the all-time (and still standing) MLB mark of hitting successfully in 56 straight games. Stan the Man Musial was the Cardinals beloved outfielder who hit 475 home runs and won seven N.L. batting titles while Williams launched 521 round-trippers and won six A.L. batting titles. A more impressive foursome of MLB Hall of Famers would be hard to find. This lot includes four single-signed baseballs autographed by the aforementioned foursome. Interestingly Musials blue ink signature appears on an official American League (Budig) baseball while DiMaggios an American League lifer signature rests on the sweet spot also in blue ink of an official National League (Giamatti) baseball. Mantle (in black ink) and Williams (in blue ink) occupy the sweet sports of their respective A.L. (Budig) baseballs. All autographs rate 9/10.
Includes Letter of Authenticity from the Skowron Family. Also includes 4 Certificates of Authenticity signed by Bill "Moose" Skowron one for each ball. Mantle and "Moose" appeared at dozens of autograph shows together in the 1980's.
