Before the MVP awards, the 50/50 season and the World Series titles, Shohei Ohtani was a 2018 rookie taking the league by storm, earning AL Rookie of the Year honors. This 2018 Topps Living Set #7 is among the most popular cards from that debut season, and this example has achieved Beckett's coveted Pristine 10 designation.

Inspired by the timeless 1953 Topps design, the Living Set is sold online in limited print runs, with Beckett's label noting 20,966 copies of Ohtani's card. The front features a painted portrait of Ohtani in his Angels cap against a soft blue backdrop, the "RC" shield at lower left and the red nameplate reading "pitcher/designated hitter." The reverse carries the 1953-style layout with biographical information, a "Dugout Quiz" cartoon and a red facsimile signature.

Beckett's Pristine 10 is reserved for cards of exceptional quality, and this example earns perfect 10 subgrades for Corners, Edges and Surface, along with a 9.5 for Centering. The card displays immaculate corners, crisp edges and flawless surfaces, with superb overall eye appeal.

Pristine 10 examples are significantly scarcer than PSA 10s and BGS 9.5s, making this a premier offering for advanced Ohtani collectors and high-grade registry builders. BGS certification #0010505668.
