This two-card lot features a pair of Nolan Ryan's most recognizable California Angels cards, each professionally graded by PSA.

The 1974 Topps #20, graded EX 5 by PSA (cert. #160333621), captures Ryan in his Angels road grays, coiled mid-delivery beneath a pink "California" pennant banner. The reverse celebrates the most remarkable season of his early career, noting that he "set modern major league record with 383 strikeouts in 1973," tied the mark with two no-hitters that year and set the record for most strikeouts in two consecutive seasons with 712. The card also features Ryan's facsimile autograph on the reverse.

The 1979 Topps #115, graded NM 7 by PSA (cert. #160333622), shows Ryan in his Angels home whites, glove raised overhead in his classic windup pose. The reverse proudly states that he "has hurled 4 no-hitters for the Angels" and documents 2,686 career strikeouts through 1978. Notably, it is Ryan's final Topps card as an Angel, issued before he signed with his home-state Houston Astros as a free agent in November 1979.

Together, the cards bookend Ryan's dominant run in Anaheim, where he led the American League in strikeouts seven times and transformed himself into baseball's most feared power pitcher. He went on to retire with records for strikeouts (5,714) and no-hitters (seven) and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1999 with 98.8 percent of the vote. A great pairing for any Ryan or Angels collector.
