Upper Deck's 2001 Ultimate Collection was the company's flagship high-end release, and its Ultimate Signatures inserts are among the most desirable autograph cards of the era. This example of Alex Rodriguez is serial numbered 011 of just 150.

The front features a full-length image of Rodriguez in his blue Texas Rangers uniform, pointing toward the field with his glove at his side, set within a dark brushstroke frame. His bold blue ink signature sweeps across the light blue background beside the "Ultimate Signatures" title, and the serial number is printed below the photo.

The reverse notes that "Rodriguez recorded one of the greatest offensive seasons by a shortstop in Major League history in 2001," adding that "his 52 home runs topped the American League and also set a record for longballs by a shortstop." Upper Deck's certificate of authenticity, signed by CEO Richard McWilliam, guarantees that the card was personally autographed by Rodriguez.

This example has received a GEM MT 10 grade from PSA, an exceptional accomplishment for a card with a light blue design that readily shows any flaw. The corners are sharp, the centering is excellent and the surfaces are pristine. Rodriguez went on to win the 2003 AL MVP award in Texas and two more with the Yankees. He finished his career with 696 home runs and 3,115 hits. A low-numbered, perfectly graded on-card autograph of Alex Rodriguez. Graded GEM MT 10 by PSA.
