This is Michael Jordan’s 1988 Fleer card, #17, graded PSA NM 7. It’s one of the most popular Jordan cards from the years right after his rookie issue. It came out after his remarkable 1987-88 season, when he won the league MVP, the Defensive Player of the Year award and his second straight scoring title.

Fleer’s 1988 design frames the photo with a sweeping red banner and a gray border. Jordan is shown in his red Bulls road uniform, defending in the post against Hawks big man Kevin Willis, whose #42 is visible in the frame. “Guard-Forward” and “Bulls” run along the bottom of the frame in bold type. The teal and salmon striped back lists the card as “17 of 132” and shows his complete stats through 1987-88. That includes the 35.0 points per game he averaged that season, and the 37.1 he averaged in 1986-87. There’s also a Chicago Bulls logo and the 1988 Fleer copyright.

This copy is clean and appealing. The color is strong, the white borders are bright and the surfaces are glossy, with only light corner wear keeping it out of a higher grade. Centering is good overall. Fleer’s late-1980s Jordan cards are cornerstones of any basketball collection, and this PSA-graded copy is an easy way to add one of his classic early cards.
