The 1973 Topps #615 "Rookie Third Basemen" card holds the distinction of being the rookie card of Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt, widely regarded as the greatest third baseman in baseball history. Schmidt shares the card with future Dodgers star Ron Cey and Padres prospect John Hilton, making it one of the most recognizable multi-player rookie cards of the 1970s.

The front showcases the three young third basemen in side-by-side portraits beneath the "1973 Rookie Third Basemen" banner, with Schmidt pictured at right in his Phillies cap. The reverse lists each player's vital statistics, including Schmidt's Dayton, Ohio birthplace and hometown.

Schmidt went on to spend his entire 18-year career in Philadelphia, hitting 548 home runs, leading the National League in homers eight times and winning three MVP awards, ten Gold Gloves and the 1980 World Series MVP award. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1995 in his first year of eligibility.

Graded NM 7 by PSA (Cert. #30583516), this example presents with bright color, clean surfaces and strong eye appeal for the grade. As a high-number card from the 1973 set, #615 has always been challenging to find in top condition, and the Schmidt rookie remains one of the cornerstone cards of the decade.

An essential acquisition for Phillies collectors and vintage rookie card enthusiasts alike. PSA NM 7.
