Offered is a high-grade, pedigreed example of one of Mickey Mantle's most popular subset cards: a 1960 Topps #563 Mickey Mantle "Sport Magazine '60 All-Star Selection," graded NM 7 (84) by SGC. The SGC label carries the "Rothman Collection" pedigree, an added layer of provenance for the discerning collector. The card is housed in an earlier-generation SGC holder that many vintage enthusiasts prefer.

Issued in Topps' scarce 1960 high-number series, the All-Star subset is among the most visually striking designs of the decade. The obverse shows Mantle in Yankee pinstripes with his bat cocked, his silhouette set against an oversized blue-and-orange "60." Red banners read "Sport Magazine '60 All-Star Selection" across the top and "Mickey Mantle • Outfield/American League" along the bottom.

The reverse features a cartoon of Mantle crushing a pitch, captioned "That Slam Felt Grand," with a note recalling his grand slam in the 1953 World Series. The accompanying text highlights his back-to-back MVP Awards. It notes his 1956 Triple Crown season and his .365 average in 1957, along with his 11 World Series home runs at the time.

This example offers outstanding eye appeal, with vivid color, a sharp image, clean white borders and pleasing centering, all consistent with the NM 7 grade. Mantle went on to win three MVP Awards and seven World Series championships before entering the Hall of Fame in 1974. This is a premium, pedigreed Mantle for the advanced collector.
