Lew Alcindor arrived in the NBA in 1969 with arguably the most decorated amateur résumé in basketball history: three consecutive NCAA championships at UCLA, three Final Four Most Outstanding Player awards and a dominance so complete that the dunk was banned in college basketball because of him. He immediately won Rookie of the Year with the Milwaukee Bucks and, as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, went on to claim six MVP awards, six NBA championships and retire as the league's all-time leading scorer.

Offered here is Alcindor's 1969 Topps #25 rookie card, graded NM 7 by PSA. Issued in the classic oversized "tall boy" format, the card captures the young center in a green Milwaukee warm-up top, cradling a basketball against a vivid blue oval background framed by illustrated player figures in each corner. The reverse displays his complete UCLA statistics, including 2,325 career points and a record 63.9% field goal percentage, along with the fitting cartoon caption noting he came to the NBA "with the most impressive set of credentials in history."

This example offers outstanding eye appeal for the grade, with bright, clean white borders, vibrant color, sharp registration and pleasing centering. The tall, narrow dimensions of the 1969 Topps set make it notoriously condition-sensitive, and high-grade examples of its signature card are consistently in demand. One of the most important basketball cards ever produced. Encapsulated by PSA, certification #15226116.
