Presented is one of the most dynamic images in the T206 set: a 1909-11 T206 Ty Cobb (Bat Off Shoulder) with a Piedmont 350 advertising back, graded VG/EX+ 4.5 by SGC. SGC's label dates this card to 1910. Of Cobb's four T206 poses, the Bat Off Shoulder variation is the most action-oriented, and many collectors regard it as the most visually striking.

The obverse shows a determined Cobb in profile, wearing a dark cap and a gray Detroit sweater with his bat held upright in front of him. The lithographed background is one of the most attractive in the series, a sunset sky in orange, gold and powder blue fading over a green field. The caption "Cobb, Detroit" appears in the bottom border. The reverse carries the blue Piedmont "Base Ball Series 350 Subjects" advertisement with the "Factory No. 25, 2nd Dist. VA" tagline.

Cobb remains the standard by which hitters of the Deadball Era are measured. His .366 lifetime average is the highest in Major League history, and he collected 12 batting titles, a 1909 Triple Crown and more than 4,100 hits. He topped the ballot for the Hall of Fame's inaugural class of 1936.

This example offers strong eye appeal for the grade, with bright, well-registered color and a crisp image. Corner and edge wear is modest and consistent with the VG/EX+ 4.5 assessment, and the back remains clean and bold. A superb addition to any advanced T206 collection.
