The NBA's Kings who hailed from Kansas City between 1972 and 1985 suddenly became the Sacramento Kings the following season. The franchise hasn't looked back since. The thing is before 1985 the Kings were considered NBA nomads. Between 1923 and 1985 the then-Rochester "Seagrams" went on a long journey to get to Sacramento becoming the Rochester Eber Seagrams in 1942 the Rochester Royals in 1948 the Cincinnati Royals in 1957 the Kansas City-Omaha Kings in 1972 and lastly the Kansas City Kings in 1975. The team spent a total of 13 seasons I Kansas City and ultimately failed in the market. The team played its home games inside a small arena outside of city limits called Kemper Memorial Arena which is rarely used for much of anything anymore.

This lot features a late 1970's Kansas City Kings Game-Worn shooting shirt. The red-white and blue Wilson pullover shooting shirt size 42 includes a zipper that extends six-and-a-half inches down from the collar. The recognizable Kansas City Kings logo graces the left breast area while a diagonal red white and blue strip adorns the front. The shooting shirt shows wear. Kansas City's only Mid-West Division title took place in 1979 when they finished the regular season with a record of 48-34. The team was led by rookie point guard Phil Ford who was named NBA Rookie of the Year in 1979 and three veterans: Sam Lacey Scott Wedman and Otis Birdsong.
