1910 Hudson County Auto Racing First Prize Trophy presented to famed early racing driving Ralph De Palma. De Palma is a member of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Motorsports Hall of Fame of America and Automotive Hall of Fame. Among his more than 2000 estimated victories was the 1915 Indianapolis 500. Ornate 14 1/2" trophy features a raised image of a period automobile at the top three wheels with wings around bottom and bunches of grapes on all four sides. Engraved on the front is "HUDSON COUNTY AUTOMOBILE RACES GUTTENBERG RACE TRACK NOV. 24 1910 MANAGEMENT O. D. CORBETT". Back is engraved "FIRST PRIZE TEN MILE FREE FOR ALL WON BY RALPH DE PALMA IN FIAT CYCLONE". Trophy is in overall very nice condition.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
