Retired NFL running back LaDainian Tomlinson was one of the leagues greatest breakaway rushers during his 11-year professional career nine seasons of which he played for the San Diego Chargers. He rushed for a total of 13684 yards and scored 145 touchdowns on the ground. An accomplished pass receiver as well coming out of the backfield LT also added 4772 receiving yards to his credit along with 17 touchdown receptions. This lot features one of Tomlinsons game-used Chargers jerseys from a Dec. 6 2009 away game versus the Cleveland Browns. The game was memorable for the fact that LT surpassed the great Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown a former Cleveland Brown on the NFL's career rushing list and also scored his 150th career touchdown a four-yard run off tackle with 5:58 left in the third quarter. The game won by the Chargers 30-23 saw Tomlinson gain 64 yards on 20 carries to help the visitors pull out the victory.
The 100% polyester No. 21 jersey shows an incredible amount of game use with grass stains across the back and plenty of paint transfers from on-the-field collisions across the shoulders sleeves and front that can be easily photo-matched. A white strip tag is sewn into the inside rear collar with black lettering that reads: 09-46 S. The Chargers white jersey includes the team name in Navy blue across the front just below the official NFL Equipment logo at the base of the V-neck area as well as the official Chargers bolts sewn onto both sleeves just below Tomlinsons uniform No. 21. The front and back of the jersey is adorned with uniform No. 21 in Navy blue tackle twill with gold and powder blue outlines. On the front of the jersey just above the left breast area is the Chargers official 50-year Anniversary patch calling out the clubs years in existence: 1960 - 2009. The bottom of the jersey is specially tailored with elastic all the way around the waist in order to keep the jersey tight to LTs body. Finally his last name TOMLINSON appears in Navy blue on a white nameplate thats been sewn on to the back of the jersey.
In addition to the game-worn jersey a color 8" x 10" action photo of Tomlinson from the game is included with this lot. He signed the photo and inscribed it in gold paint pen: "150th TD 12/6/09."
