In 1997, classic realist Danny Day produced a Kareem Abdul-Jabbarlimited-edition print series consisting of 340 signed/numbered copies,40 artist's proofs and 20 giclees—all endorsed with Kareem's signature.Presented here is the sole original oil-on-canvas Abdul-Jabbar paintingon which that entire popular print series was based. The 31" x 42" workfeatures absolutely radiant color tones and renders "The Captain" aswell as any artist ever has, with a career-spanning montage of sky hooksplus a regal bust-length portrait, set against a beautiful arenabackdrop. It is matted and framed to 41" x 51" (slight frame wear) andsigned by the artist.
Day's website describes his style and accomplishments this way: "Forover two decades Danny, while being one of the most prolific andversatile American artists, has established a reputation worldwide forthe high quality of his original works of art. Danny has made it alifelong quest to master and refine his version of realism, perfectingthe 'master's technique' of oils on canvas. Rich color and eye poppingclarity are the hallmarks embodied in his works."
