PSA AUTHENTIC Full Unused PROOF - NOT VALID FOR ADMISSION - PUNCHED/CANCELLED Ticket to the Heavyweight Fight between rising star Joe Louis and challenger and former World Champion Max Schmeling held at Yankee Stadium in New York City on June 18 1936 in front of a sold out crowd. The first Louis - Schmeling fight was much anticipated as a showdown between USA and Nazi Aryan ideals. Schmeling had studied the style of Louis for months and put this knowledge to work in the fight. Using jabs followed by right crosses Schmeling kept Louis off balance all the while inflicting damage. In round 12 Schmeling landed a heavy right to the body of Louis and following it up with a right to the chin knocking Louis out. This would be the only knock out Louis would suffer in his prime. Very clean both front and back with some corner wear. Ticket has one cancellation punch hole at the right side.
