The ball is consigned directly from two friends who made a special pact before the game that they would share ownership 50/50 if one caught it.

Few players in the history of baseball have commanded the global attention that follows Shohei Ohtani whenever he steps onto the diamond. A true two-way force, the modern-day version of Babe Ruth with his slugging and pitcher dominance, Ohtani has turned routine games into international events and his milestones into moments shared across two continents. Offered here is one of the most significant of them all: the baseball from his 300th career home run in the Major Leagues.

The historic swing came leading off the bottom of the first inning at Dodger Stadium on July 7, 2026. Facing Colorado’s Michael Lorenzen, Ohtani smoked a pitch into the left-center field seats, the ball leaving his bat at 112.2 mph. With it, he became the 170th member of MLB’s 300-homer fraternity and the first player born in Japan ever to get there. Per Elias Sports Bureau as cited by MLB, he needed just 1,101 games with a plate appearance to reach the mark, the fifth-fastest pace in history.

Behind the ball is a story any fan can appreciate. Jack Westin and Nate Kugler, lifelong friends from the Los Angeles area now studying at the University of Michigan and USC, went to the game together and agreed before first pitch that any milestone ball either of them caught would be owned jointly. When #300 came down in the outfield seats, broadcast footage captured Kugler securing it. The two documented the aftermath in photos and video, including footage of stadium staff asking for the ball’s return.

Though no MLB authentication hologram was applied, the Official Major League baseball has been photo matched by Sports Investors Authentication to imagery from the outfield seating area just minutes after the moment. There are several marks and paint transfers on the ball from the point of bat contact to when it landed in the bleachers. Includes signed affidavits and letters of provenance from both consignors, their ticket stubs, and an SIA Photo Match LOA. A cornerstone Ohtani artifact with impeccable firsthand provenance.
