A month after the beloved "Iron Horse" succumbed to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at age 37 a memorial was held July 4 1941 at Yankee Stadium to honor Gehrig and dedicate a monument to him in Memorial Park behind center field of the stadium. His became the 2nd to be erected joining the one in place for former manager Miller Huggins. Babe Ruth would follow in 1949. The original bearer of this rare ticket was among the few who failed to join the full house to honor the Yankees immortal captain. The full unused ticket features a striking image of Gehrig at the center and has been neatly stamped "void" on the back. Beautiful crease free ticket with clean front and back. Corners appear EX-MT or better. Outstanding looking full ticket appears to be EX-MT. Ticket slabbed AUTHENTIC by PSA.
