VG PSA 3 Full Unused Ticket to the World Heavyweight Championship Fight between Champion Jack Dempsey and challenger Tom Gibbons held in an arena built over a farm in Shelby Montana on July 4 1923. Shelby a small town in northern Montana where oil had been discovered 2 year earlier wanted to put itself on the national map. To get the fight held there they had to pay large guaranteed monies to both fighters. When only 7700 paying fans showed up in the football sized arena the fight turned out to be an economic disaster. Instead of the brawl many were expecting the fight turned out to be a strategic battle between the 2 boxers with Dempsey retaining his crown with a unanimous 15 round decision. Ticket clean both front and back with corner wear. Some creasing but nothing that disrupts the surface paper.
