These size 15 Converse All-Star "Dr. J" signature model shoes were game-worn by Julius "Dr. J" Erving circa 1984-86 as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. Coming off an NBA title in 1983 Erving was still a major scoring threat in his mid-30's averaging 20 and 18 points per game respectively over those two years. He retired at the end of the 1986-87 season but The Doctor's legacy lives on forever. These white leather Converse high tops with red Converse logo and red upper ankle and heel coloration were specially made for the Hall of Famer each shoe coming with his custom orthotic inserts. They show solid game use and are both signed by Erving in black sharpie.
These shoes were part of "The Dr. J Collection" featured in SCP Auctions' Fall 2011 Premier. Purchased as game-worn sneakers converted to roller skates the buyer and now consignor has since removed the roller skate design feature. They now present as simply game-worn shoes with four drill holes in each of the outsoles where the wheels used to be attached. An awesome keepsake for your basketball collection.
