SCP Auctions is proud to present these fight worn trunks from the personal collection of the greatest Mexican boxer of all time. Julio Csar Chvez is arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter ever known for his rock-solid chin devastating left hook and relentless attacking style. On December 8 1990 Chvez faced Kyung-Duk Ahn in Atlantic City to defend his World Boxing Council (WBC) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) Light Welterweight titles and sported these flashy red and black silk trunks. Eight months prior Chvez had defeated American Meldrick Taylor via a thrilling 12-round TKO (Ring Magazines Fight of the Year) to add the IBF crown to his arsenal. This bout also ended in a TKO triumph for Chvez although he needed just three rounds to put away the South Korean knocking him to the canvas three times. The size L shorts have Bertinelli manufacturers tagging inside the black waistband. Chvezs sponsor "JUVENIA" (Swiss watch company) is embossed on the waistband front and back in white lettering outlined in red. "J.C. CHAVEZ" in similar embroidered letteringthis time in white with black outlineappears on the left leg. Three crown logo designs stitched in white appear on the right leg. A very lavish and ornate gold trim adorns both sides. They show excellent use with stretch marks minor fraying and light sweat stains.

Julio Csar Chvez was born July 12 1962 in Obrgon Mexico in the state of Sonora. Influenced by his older brothers he started boxing at 16 years old before moving to Tijuana to pursue a professional career. The 56 Chvez had many epic fights in his career including defeats of Meldrick Taylor twice and the late Hector Macho Camacho of Puerto Rico. His 1993 knockout victory over Greg Haugen at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City drew 132274 and still holds the boxing attendance record. A 6-time World Champion in three different weight classes Chvez won his first 87 boutsthe longest winning streak in boxing history stretching 13 yearsand finished with a career record of 107-6-2. Chvez still holds records for most title fights (37) title fight victories (31) and title defenses (27). Not until his 91st professional fight was he even knocked down in the ring which just so happened to be his first loss. Two of his six losses were to Oscar De La Hoya when the young Mexican-American was in his prime and Chvez was well into the twilight of his career. Never bashful about his ability or his legacy Chvez had this to say about De La Hoya: "I have nothing against him even though he beat me twice. De la Hoya was younger than me and I was on my way out of boxing. If Oscar didnt fight me he would not have been anything in boxing. In 2010 Chvez was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Includes Letter of Authenticity from Julio Csar Chvez.
