Former UCLA Men's Head Basketball Coach John Wooden and the late Tony Gwynn had several things in common including their love of basketball. Wooden coached the UCLA Bruins to 620 victories during his 27-year tenure in Westwood while Gwynn prior to embarking on his Hall of Fame baseball career was a standout college basketball player at San Diego State University. This lot features an official Wilson Jet basketball that Wooden signed to Gwynn with the following inscription in black marker: For Tony Gwynn a great hitter and person with Happy Birthday Wishes. John Wooden UCLA (Ret.). A great piece of sports memorabilia from one sports legend to another.

A portion of the proceeds generated by the Tony Gwynn Collection will be donated to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation. The TAG Foundation is a non-profit 5013(c) charity dedicated to creating and supporting programs that enhance opportunities for youth to become healthy educated and productive citizens.
