1938 All-Star Game 14K Gold tie clip and 14K Gold pedant set in a 10K Gold ring presented to Hall of Famer Joe McCarthy manager of the American League team. Originally obtained directly from McCarthy by legendary collector Barry Halper the 14K Gold pedant was separated from the 14K Gold tie clasp and set into a 10K Gold ring. Pedant on top of ring features a real 5 point diamond above an eagle at the top edge with "ALL STAR GAME AMERICAN LEAGUE" in blue enamel and gold surrounding "CINCINNATI 1938" on baseball at center. Back of pedant has "JOE MCCARTHY MANAGER" and "10 KARAT DIEGES & CLUST". Sides of ring engraved "ALL STAR 1938" on one side and "N.L.-4 A.L.-1 1938". Ring size 11 3/4. Weight 24 grams. 14K Gold tie clasp measures 2 1/4" long. Tip on back stamped "10 KARAT DIEGES & CLUST". Clasp and gold chain weigh 4 grams.
11/5/1999 LOA from Barry Halper. Also included is a copy of the original Sotheby's lot listing showing the tie clasp and pedant together as originally issued.
