Featured here is a glimpse of Pistol Pete Maravich mid-jump shot donning his LSU Tigers home uniform agains University of Mississippi. This proof was taken and run thru the AP wire system due to the historical significance of Maravich's 53-point college scoring record breaking perfomance on January 31, 1970. It would only take less than 10 months later for spectators to see his dominant and unique style translate to the NBA game. The photo measures approximately 8.5 x 11 and is relatively crease free where it matters most. Small creases are found on the bottom left corner but do not detract from the photograph. The verson has a large red "SPORT" stamp along with a "Wide World Photos" stamp in the center. A piece of pink stock is affixed with "54.8" written in pencil and another white piece of stock is affixed with some letters and number. The caption on the proof sums up the record breaking performance for the other outlets picking up the important story. Authenticated and encapsulated TYPE 1 by PSA/DNA.
