Scarce typed signed letter from John Wooden to Mr. Elgin Baylor on Elgin Baylor Night. The letter remains in pristine condition on UCLA letterhead and is dated January 31, 1969.

 

"Dear Elgin,

Although you may not be one of the "Seven Wonders" of this wonderful world of ours, you are certainly one of the wonders of our wonderful world of basketball, and I am delighted that I was asked to help honor you on this "Elgin Baylor Night."

Congratulations, Elgin, not only for your truly amazing ability to perform so well in every phase of the game we both love, but even more for your conduct as a man. You have certainly represented basketball, both on and off the floor, in exemplary manner and have been a true credit to the game. May we have many more as near to you as possible.

PSA has encapsulated the letter in a jumbo holder and given the signature a near-perfect MINT 9 grade.

Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received. Please allow up to three business days following clearance of payment for items to ship. All items will be shipped UPS/FedEx Ground unless you contact us to discuss an alternative shipping method.
