Nice condition January 3 1940 two page hand written letter from Washington Senator Hall of Fame pitcher Walter Johnson to his pen pal Eleanor Fleitman. Johnson has signed the letter with a perfect 9-10/10 vintage blue ink signature. Johnson was one of the first five players elected to the Hall of Fame in 1936 along with Babe Ruth Ty Cobb Honus Wagner and Christy Mathewson. In the letter Johnson talks a lot about baseball including why pitchers are such bad hitters and how he personally liked closer scores like when he was pitching "1 to 0 and 2 to 1". He also talks about how broadcasting games over the radio gives the fans who can't get to the games they chance to enjoy the sport and his experience at doing radio work ending by saying "I hope I can do a better job announcing". Letter itself is in nice condition with just the original folds. Original mailing envelope is also included.

Includes a Full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
