This wonderful 1980 North Carolina Tar Heels road jersey and shorts were worn by James Worthy in his sophomore season when he averaged 14.2 points per game as the club gave a hint of the greatness to come with an NCAA Finals runner-up finish in 1981 and the NCAA Championship the following season. This is an amazing early-career artifact from one of the legendary figures in both college and NBA a Hall of Famer who was a seven-time All-Star and member of three NBA Championship squads in the late 1980's as well as being named to the NBA's Top 50 Team in 1996. The powder-blue jersey shows good game use and is essentially problem-free with no alterations of any kind evident. On the front left tail are the stacked Sand-Knit manufacturers tags with the bottom noting Size 44. On the front is NORTH CAROLINA in white vinyl letters and the player number 52 which also appears in much larger vinyl numbers on the back. The accompanying shorts reveal even more evidence of game use; adjacent "Sand-Knit" tags on the back of the waistband indicate Size 36. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from James Worthy.
