J.C. Martin logged 14 major league seasons with three different clubs: the Chicago White Sox the New York Mets and the Chicago Cubs. An infielder who mostly played catcher Martin spent the majority of his career with the White Sox (1959 to ’67) but captured a World Series ring with the "Miracle Mets"in ’69.This lot is comprised of three different game worn gloves and/or mitts used during the 1960’s portion of his big league career.

The first is a well-worn Wilson catcher’s mitt that shows plenty of game use. Model #A-2403 it includes Martin’s signature (“J.C. Martin”) in black marker on the inside pinkie area. The second glove is a Spalding first baseman’s “Trapper Model” mitt that shows plenty of wear. Martin has signed this glove on the outside of the thumb area also in black marker. The third and final glove is an infielder’s glove that was actually broken in by none other than Hall of Fame shortstop and White Sox teammate Luis Aparicio. A MacGregor Mike McCormick “flex pad” model the glove shows plenty of wear and tear. Martin has signed the glove “J.C. Martin” in black marker on the outside of the thumb area.

Includes three LOAs from J.C. Martin.
