LeBron James has long been considered one of the greatest players of his generation. His incredible feats on a nightly basis have become the norm, smashing numerous records season after season. At 37 years of age during most of the 2021-22 season, LeBron again defied Father Time by posting averages of 30.3 PPG, 8.2 RPG and 6.2 APG. He also passed Karl Malone to become second on the NBA all-time scoring list, and now is on the precipice of passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the top spot.
Offered is the first #6 jersey James ever donned as a Laker, on opening night of the 2021-22 campaign at Staples Center against the Golden State Warriors. When asked before that season why he made the change, LeBron said: “It’s always been a part of me, to be honest. Six has a lot of meaning to me, from my family and numbers and things of that nature to what I believe in and things of that sort, but my mentality doesn’t change.” King James dropped a game-high 34 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 5 assists in a tightly contested 121-114 Warriors win while wearing these threads.
The gold Nike Icon Edition jersey has the iconic "LAKERS" lettering sewn on the chest above the aforementioned "6." The Nike logo is on the right shoulder and the Bibigo logo on the left. White and purple trim rings the neck and arm openings. The lower left front tail has the size 54 Jordan/NBA label and an individual serial number label sewn adjacent. "10-19-21" is handwritten on the jock tag. The back has “JAMES” and his number “6” in individually sewn characters. The jersey shows great game use with some light toning and loose threads on the graphics. The jersey is registered into the NBA and MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program as number LALW04971. This jersey has been fully photo matched to the 1st and 2nd half of the first game of Lebron wearing #6 as a Los Angeles Laker player.
