Detroit's much beloved slugger Hank Greenberg probably would have been a member of the 500 Home Run club had he not missed four years serving his country during World War II. For the four years prior to going into the service Greenberg averaged 43 home runs a year. One of the most unique and impressive Hank Greenberg single signed baseballs we've encountered this OAL (MacPhail) ball features a large and bold "Hank" Greenberg autograph across the sweet spot. The perfect looking 9-10/10 black felt tip autograph is joined by Greenberg's remarkably scarce notation "Detroit Tigers". This is the first and only single signed ball we've seen from the Detroit Tiger Hall of Famer with such a notation. The ball is clean overall with some areas of light toning not affecting its dramatic overall display quality.
