The Great Western Forum was the former home of the Los Angeles Lakers the proud owners of 16 NBA titles. Situated in Inglewood Calif. the Forum was the site of where the Lakers cemented six of their World Championship crowns: 1972 1980 1982 1985 1987 and 1988. It was also used as the site of the 1984 Summer Olympic Games which saw the United States' Men's Basketball team win the gold medal. This lot features an actual 12 wide by 8 high piece of the original Forum basketball court floor alongside three 5 by 7 color photos of a trio of Hall of Fame Laker greats and their cut signatures: Jerry West Wilt Chamberlain and Elgin Baylor. The overall framed item which measures 26 wide by 27 high by two inches deep is a limited-edition piece (#0051/500) that includes a specially engraved gold plaque that reads: ORIGINAL FORUM BASKETBALL COURT and includes the six title seasons as well as the organizations home court win-loss record while playing at the fabulous Forum: 889 W 227 L.
Includes LOA from Lakers signed by late owner Jerry Buss. Also includes photo with spot on floor where piece was removed.
