The 1942 St. Louis Cardinals won it all and third baseman George Whitey Kurowski was one of the reasons why. Entering Game 5 of the 42 World Series the Cardinals held a three-games-to-one advantage over the American League Champion New York Yankees. In what turned out to be the deciding game of the Series the Cardinals earned a 4-2 victory over the Yankees and it was Kurowski who delivered the winning runs with a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning. This is the Jim Brown Model Louisville Slugger Hillerich & Bradsby Professional Model Bat that Kurowski used in that memorable at-bat at Yankee Stadium. The 35.5 Powerized bat even includes special black engraving on the bat barrel that reads: Home Run Hit by G. Kurowski St. Louis Cardinals Third Baseman Won Final Game Using This Bat in World Series 1942.

Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
