Awesome collection of over 300 autographs with very few duplications collected by a 12 year old George Sisler Jr. mostly over the 1929 baseball season. Included within this group are 42 members of the Baseball Hall of Fame - Lou Gehrig Walter Johnson George Sisler Jimmie Foxx Al Simmons Lefty Grove Mickey Cochrane Connie Mack Jim Bottomley George Kelly Bill Klem Frank Frisch Chick Hafey Jesse Haines Bill McKechnie Rabbit Maranville Johnny Evers Tony Lazzeri Bill Dickey Leo Durocher Earle Coombs Sam Rice Joe Cronin Goose Goslin Red Ruffing Heinie Manush Rick Ferrell Harry Heilmann Charlie Gehringer Bucky Harris Ed Walsh Red Faber Joe Sewell Earl Averill Eddie Collins Pie Traynor Max Carey Lloyd Waner Paul Waner Eppa Rixey Burleigh Grimes and Chuck Klein. For 1929 young Sisler managed to get nearly every signature of all the players on all the teams in the American League - New York Yankees Philadelphia Athletics Washington Senators Boston Red Sox St. Louis Browns Detroit Tigers Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox. For 1930 the National League Pittsburgh Pirates was the only team he was able to capture nearly in full. The vast majority of the signatures are in near perfect looking 9/10-10/10 blue or black vintage ink. A few non-baseball signatures are also present - American humorist Will Rogers Hall of Fame boxer Jack Sharkey World War II aviation hero Jimmy Doolittle and singer Rudy Vallee. The Babe Ruth autograph has been deemed by PSA/DNA to be secretarial. George Jr. unlike his father and brothers Dick and Dave never reached the major leagues as a player but had a very long and distinguished career as a minor league executive from 1942 thru 1989. From 1965 through 1976 he was the President of the International League. About 4" by 7" autograph book itself is in pretty nice condition after all these years with only a couple of loose pages.
