Gene Tenace won four World Series titles as a big league player the last of which occurred in 1982 as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals. This lot features a pair of plaques that were awarded to Tenace from the St. Louis Baseball Writers Association of America following the teams seven-game World Series win over the American League Champion Milwaukee Brewers. Both plaques measure 15 by 12 although one is laid out vertically while the other is horizontal. The vertical plaque which Tenace autographed in black marker shows busts of all 25 team members as well as the seven members of the coaching and managerial staff including skipper Whitey Herzog. It also includes the box score of each game of the seven games played in the 82 Fall Classic. The second plaque shows a large bust of Tenace positioned alongside his professional career statistics including his memorable postseason performances. Tenace signed the second plaque also in black marker and added the inscription: 4X W.S. Champ.
